Before you take off on that beach getaway, remember your hair needs protection from the sun, similar to your skin. It’s important to protect your hair to maintain your colour and the overall healthiness of your locks. Here are a few of my solutions to help keep your hair health all year long:
The best way to protect your hair from the sun is literally having something to wear to stop the UV rays from coming in contact with your hair. Such as hats, head scarves and bandannas.
Reduce heat styling
Ditch your hot tools all summer and enjoy your natural hair! Let your hair air dry, put some braids in it over night.
Use an SPF conditioner
Also, find an SPF deep conditioner or mask to protect from any other damage. You can also find UV protection sprays, works just how sunscreen works on your skin.
Dust those Ends
To keep you hair looking great all year long, be sure to get your hair “dusted” every 4-6 weeks. Dusting or micro-trimming, just removes the tiniest tips of your strands to remove the dry damaged ends. Dusting can also help if you are trying to grow your hair out.
